Road closed for six hours after collision near Southwick
11:16am Thursday 14th March 2013 in Trowbridge
The A361 at Firs Hill, Southwick, was closed for almost six hours last night, after a serious road traffic collision between two cars just after 10.30pm.
A silver Ford Fiesta with a driver and three passengers lost control and was in collision with a silver Volkswagen Golf with just a driver inside.
The driver of the Golf suffered head injuries, while one of the passengers of the Ford Fiesta suffered leg and pelvic injuries.
A critical care team from Wiltshire Ambulance was at the incident at 10.56pm and assessed the situation before making a request for backup at 11.03pm.
The first ambulance was on scene at 11.29pm, preceded by a rapid response team two minutes earlier. A second ambulance arrived at the crash at 11.47pm.
The two teenage men, both from Trowbridge, were taken to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol where their condition is said to be stable.
The road was closed until 4am while Wiltshire Police’s serious collision investigation team investigated the scene of the crash.
