Final Rudge fete to boost Warminster charity
The organiser of the Rudge Fete hopes to go out with a bang as she prepares for the final ever event.
For the past 31 years, Caroline Pakenham has raised around £80,000 for charity through the biennial event, which takes place at the grounds of The Old Manor.
On Saturday, from 2pm, the venue will be hosting games, musical performers, an animal healer, tarot card readings, a raffle, being drawn at 4pm, and a tombola amongst other attractions.
The event is raising money for the Wessex Therapy Centre in Warminster and the MS Society in Bath.
Mrs Pakenham said: “It would be great to make a huge amount of money. In 2011, we raised £7,000 so ideally I’d like to make around £10,000 but I think £8,000 is realistic target.
“I’ve decided to stop now as I wanted to go out on top. I’d like to thank the support and donations over the years.”
