Trowbridge cardiac arrest teen's back on the ball
Teenage footballer Quinton Barham returned to the pitch for the first time on Tuesday night, six months after suffering a cardiac arrest on the pitch.
Quinton, 14, of Hyde Road, Trowbridge, took part in the Under 15s training session with his club, Bradford on Avon Town Youth, at their Winsley ground.
He collapsed on the pitch at Bromham in February and needed a heart bypass.
The Clarendon Academy pupil said: “My legs got a bit tired but it went good. Everyone was pleased to see me back.”
He and his team are returning to Bromham’s home ground on Sunday, September 1 for a charity match against Bromham in aid of Bristol Children’s Hospital.
The match, which will also raise money for a new portable defibrillator for Bromham, kicks off at 2pm.
