A Trowbridge charity is looking for a new premises in the town for its day club due to a growing number of clients.

Alzheimer’s Support day club needs a space that would house up to 10 members and staff for four days a week, and would consider commercial property, a church meeting room, function room or any other community space, ideally with access to a garden.

Stephany Bardzil, development and communications manager, said: “There is a growing demand for our services so we need to think about the future.

“We know the number of people with dementia in Wiltshire is rising and we want to make sure our services are retained for the future.”

CEO Anna Littlechild said: “We are looking for a building in Trowbridge that we can use as a day club four days a week.

"A large ground floor room, a smaller room, a kitchen and downstairs loo are all essential, but otherwise we can be flexible.

“We have been looking at commercial property but found nothing suitable yet. We would like to rent for a minimum of a year but preferably longer.

“Our day clubs provide a stimulating, enjoyable day out for people in the early to mid stages of dementia and an invaluable break for their family carers.”

The charity’s Devizes day club recently won the Dignity in Care and Winner of Winners awards in the Wiltshire Social Care awards.

After a routine Care Quality Commission inspection last month, the independent charity was told it was meeting all its standards and had no changes to make.
