A group of Trowbridge young people seeking jobs are looking for a good cause to support through a Prince’s Trust project.

The charity’s team programme aims to help people aged between 16 and 25, who are unemployed and to get them into work, education or training.

The course runs on a 12-week cycle and the current group of 14 people held their first meeting at Court Mills Youth Development Centre on Monday.

As part of their time with the charity, which is supported by the not-for-profit training organisation The Learning Curve, the group spend a month aiding a community project.

Amy Schuring, Prince’s Trust Team Programme’s assistant team leader, said: “We are looking for a community project in the area such as a hall that needs painting or a garden that needs tending to.

“We would be happy to hear from anyone who’d like our help just providing that the project is not for profit.”

The group aims to start working on their community scheme from Monday, February 10, putting together plans for the work they will do.

Then they will spend two weeks carrying out the work from February 24 until March 7.
