Trowbridge at Twickenham: Squad to look their best thanks to unsung supporters
Updated 10:00am Thursday 1st May 2014 in Trowbridge
When the Trowbridge team runs onto the famous Twickenham pitch on Sunday RFU Intermediate Cup final against Leek they know they’ll be looking their best, thanks to the dedication of two of their unsung supporters.
Andrew and Sue Lanham-Cook own the Rainbow Laundrette on Timbrell Street, and have been washing all the team’s kits since they opened.
The most recent load was dropped off on Monday after Saturday’s hard-fought promotion play-off, and was collected by first team manager Nobby Knight on Tuesday.
Mr Lanham-Cook said: “We have been here for 17 years and we have been supporting the club ever since.
“They come in every week with their washing; it’s difficult to say how much they bring in, it depends on how many games they’ve played, but it’s a lot of work to get it all cleaned up again.
“We did an extra special job on the yellow kit they are wearing for the final, to make sure they all look their best.
“We sponsored the club and have done our bit over the years, through the good times and the bad, and we will be sponsoring their bags next season.
“We wish them all the best, and long may it last. It’s good news for them, and good news for the town.”
