After five years building her letting business from home, Jo Snook-Haldane now has a permanent base in Trowbridge.
Layzell Property Lets is situated in Duke Street and Mrs Snook-Haldane has employed one new member of staff, Lucy O’Grady, to work alongside her, giving advice and services to landlords and tenants.
Mrs Snook-Haldane, who has been in the property business for 15 years, said: “I started in home sales and have worked for three different letting agencies. Then I had an opportunity to branch out on my own.
“I saw an opportunity to buy a premises as a long-term investment and to expand. I hope it is a big step for the business.”
The independent agency lets properties across Wiltshire and the Frome area, ranging from studios to four-bedroom houses.
It deals with residential lettings and management, block and leasehold management as well as investment purchase matters.
Mrs Snook-Haldane added: “The property market is very buoyant. There will always be a market for letting. Certainly young tenants are experiencing right now that they can’t afford to buy.
“I advise tenants to do their homework. View a couple of properties because they can be different.
“You have to be realistic. There is no such thing as a perfect property. You have to weigh the pros and cons.
“All of our businesses have been word of mouth; landlords, tenants, they keep coming back to us.
“Now that we have a shop frontage, I hope we can attract more investors and tenants and help a different spectrum of people.”
