A Trowbridge woman has pleaded not guilty to a charge of aiding or procuring two men to cause unnecessary suffering to an animal by hanging a collie dog.
Veronica Reid, 43, of Woolpack Meadows, Trowbridge, along with Jon Allen, 26, also of Woolpack Meadows, and Paul Brown, 52, of Okehampton Road, Exeter, have been charged on suspicion of an act of animal cruelty by the RSPCA.
Reid and Allen entered pleas of not guilty at Salisbury Magistrates' Court today, but a solicitor for Brown, who was not in attendance, entered a guilty plea on his behalf.
Reid and Allen were given unconditional bail and will appear at Salisbury Magistrates' Court for trail on August 21.
Brown will appear at Salisbury Magistrates' Court on the same day to be sentenced, after the trial of Reid and Allen.
