POLICE are hunting a man thought to be responsible for two attempted robberies in a matter of minutes in Trowbridge yesterday.
The offender first tried to steal money from a premises in Silver Street at about 5.20pm on Saturday. He ran off towards Fore Street.
Shortly afterwards, the same man is thought to have attacked a woman in Church Walk. He knocked her to the floor as he tried to snatch her handbag.
The robber is described as white, 6ft tall and slim with dark stubble and drawn in cheeks.
He was wearing a striped tight-fitting beanie hat and a dark blue fleece top with large pockets.
Police are appealing for witnesses to call Pc Lee Pelling at Trowbridge Police Station on 0845 4087000.
