A TROWBRIDGE woman is on trial at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court next Thursday accused of aiding or procuring two men to cause unnecessary suffering to an animal by hanging a collie dog.
Veronica Reid, 43, of Woolpack Meadows, Trowbridge, Jon Allen, 26, also of Woolpack Meadows, and Paul Brown, 52, of Okehampton Road, Exeter, were charged on suspicion of an act of animal cruelty by the RSPCA in June.
Reid and Allen entered pleas of not guilty at the court on July 14, but a solicitor for Brown, who was not in attendance, entered a guilty plea on his behalf.
Reid and Allen were given unconditional bail and will appear at the court for trial on Thursday.
Brown will appear on the same day to be sentenced, after the trial of Reid and Allen.
