Residents of Trowbridge are being asked for their views on how safe they feel in the town.
The What Matters to You survey in 2013 indicated just 77 per cent of people in Trowbridge said they felt safe in their area after dark, compared to the county average of more than 90 per cent.
Out of all 20 community areas in Wiltshire, Trowbridge reported the lowest percentage of people who felt safe, which is disproportionate to the actual level of crime.
Wiltshire Council is keen to find out the reason why, and to learn where in Trowbridge people feel particularly unsafe. It is encouraging people to complete the Trowbridge perception survey.
The survey is available online at wiltshire.gov.uk/ trowbridge-2014-perception-survey or by visiting Trowbridge Library. There will also be roadshows around Trowbridge from September 8 to 12.
