Engineers worked to restore electricity after power cuts were reported in parts of Wiltshire today.
Melksham Oak Community School opened as usual this morning but then closed.
Southern Electric Power Distribution tweeted: "Apologies to customers affected by the #Powercut in #BOWERHILL #BROUGHTONGIFFORD #CLEEVE #MELKSHAM #SEMINGTON expected restoration is 12:30."
This has now been updated with Southern Electric Power Distribution saying that those affected should get their electricity supply back at 2.30pm.
Engineers also hoped that power would be restored to customers affected in Seend by 2.30pm.
Just before 3pm that was amended to 5pm but was shortly followed by a statement that the fault affecting the main network in Seend was now repaired.
The company had posted on its Facebook page that extra staff would would be working because of the forecast strong winds, saying: "We have increased our resources across our network areas to ensure, that in the event of a disruption to your supply, then it can be speedily restored."
