Pupils at Clarendon Academy celebrated their achievements on Thursday, with more than 200 youngsters taking part.

The annual Achievement Evening for the school recognises the success of pupils across all subjects during the last academic year, and included music and dance performances.

Nominations for the awards came from members of staff in each subject area for outstanding achievement, effort and progress and there were special awards celebrating pupils’ overall commitment to the academy and their studies.

The nominated pupils celebrated at Trowbridge Civic Centre with their friends and family, with pictures taken of all the award winners.

The Friends of Clarendon also presented an award in memory of Connor Robinson, an ex-pupil of the school who died in 2010.

Principal Mark Stenton said: “To walk around the academy now is to witness respect, to witness determination, to witness tolerance and, above all, to see effort and joy in the privilege of teaching and the success of learning.

“It is people who are making our academy great – the students and teachers of Clarendon Academy. The hard work and dedication of these exceptional people is a great indication of things to come.”
