The case of a Polish man accused of attempted murder in Trowbridge town centre has been transferred to Bristol Crown Court.
Dawid Majewski, 25, is said to have tried to kill Kamil Zlobecki in an alleged incident in the early hours of Sunday, July 6.
The case had been sent to Swindon Crown Court but because of the seriousness of the charge it had to be moved to Bristol.
Majewski, of Ashmead, Trowbridge, has been remanded in custody and will be informed of the date of the next hearing when he is likely to indicate a plea.
It is said an incident took place between 4am and 5am in Ushers Court and Conigre Square in Trowbridge.
A 23-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries following the alleged attack but has since been released.
