WILTSHIRE Fire and Rescue Service is urging homeowners to make sure chimneys are swept, after attending a series of chimney fires.
The first incident took place on Wednesday last week at 4.25pm in Frome Road, Southwick, with one crew from Trowbridge attending.
A fire crew from Bradford on Avon was also called out on Sunday just before 7pm to a chimney fire caused by a wood burning stove in Mill Cottages in Great Chalfield, near Holt.
There was another chimney fire in Polebarn Road, Trowbridge, at 5.35pm on Tuesday with one crew from Westbury attending. They used thermal imaging cameras to check it was safe after putting it out.
A spokesman said: “We would strongly urge people with chimneys to get them swept with the winter months approaching.”
