TROWBRIDGE residents have an opportunity to bring broken items to the town’s first Care to Repair event tomorrow when volunteer will be on hand to help repair items free.
Wiltshire Wildlife Trust and Trowbridge Community Area Future are running the event from 10am-1pm with the support of Dorothy House Hospice, which is loaning space in its new shop in Wicker Hill.
Emma Croft, Community Waste Minimisation Officer at Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, said: “We throw lots of things away that could have been reused.
“Care to Repair is designed to change all that – it’s about cutting down on how much we need to buy new and looking after what we’ve already got which conserves valuable resources.
"Volunteers with know-how will be available to help mend broken electrical items, computers, clothes or textiles and bric-a-brac.”
