Trowbridge Lions Club has found a new home for its Christmas float, after an appeal by the Wiltshire Times encouraged readers to offer storage space.
The club’s Christmas door-to-door collection in Trowbridge is done with Santa and his sleigh in December. The collection is the club’s main fundraising event of the year.
However, it was told it needed to vacate the garage where the sleigh is kept at the end of the year, as the owner of its current home in Alderton Way, Trowbridge, was moving.
The club successfully put out a plea for a new home in the Wiltshire Times two years ago and has once again found a new home thanks to the kindness of a reader who was thanked by Lion Peter Cook.
