Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Trowbridge in which a man fell and suffered a fractured skull.
The incident took place between 8.30pm and 8.45pm on Friday on Kitcheners Court, Hill Street, Trowbridge.
A 24-year-old man from Trowbridge was punched to the face causing him to fall to the ground and hit his head.
The man sustained a bleed to the brain and a fractured skull. He is currently being treated at Southmead hospital and is described as being in a serious but stable condition.
A 17-year-old boy - also from Trowbridge - was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm. He has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who was near to Kitcheners Court on Friday night and may have witnessed the assault or have more information about the incident.
