A STALKER who sexually assaulted one woman and stalked two others has been warned he is facing a lengthy jail term.

Stephen Charles admitted trespass with intent to commit a sexual offence and sexual assault when he appeared at Swindon Crown Court on Monday.

The 55-year-old not only admitted stalking two more women but was also in breach of a sexual offences prevention order by following unaccompanied women.

Charles, of Shearman Street, Trowbridge, admitted trespass with intent to commit a sexual offence, sexual assault, two counts of stalking and two of breaching a SOPO.

He denied two more allegations of breaching the order, imposed by magistrates in Swindon in April 2009, relating to him talking to the unaccompanied women.

Charles first breached the sexual offences prevention order between March 2012 and the end of November 2013 by following an unaccompanied female.

He also admitted stalking the woman between Christmas Day 2012 and November 2013 by approaching, engaging in conversation and following the woman on foot.

In the second case of stalking and breach of the order he followed another unaccompanied female and lingered outside her place of work during 2013.

Charles entered a house in Trowbridge without consent in June or July 2013 with intent to commit a sex offence.

During the same period of time he also carried out a serious sexual assault on a woman.

Judge Tim Mousley QC adjourned the case to March 6 to give the probation service time to compile a pre-sentence report.

He said: "You have pleaded guilty to serious matters which inevitably will lead to a prison sentence. In the meantime you will remain in custody."
