HOUSEBOAT owner Ray Coggins who hasn't paid for his licence has been given 14 days to remove it from the Kennet and Avon Canal, or face having it done for him.

The Canal and River Trust obtained an injunction at Swindon Crown Court to prevent the craft from moving or being moored on its water.

If Mr Coggins doesn't settle what he owes then the trust will remove the boat, called Bramley, from the water at Dundas and sell it to meet the debt.

Each boat needs to pay an annual fee of between £300 and £700 to be on the canal and Bramley's last one expired in June 2013.

No one was in court representing Mr Coggins.
