HAIRDRESSING students studying for their NVQ Level 3 at Wiltshire College Trowbridge put together a catwalk show to raise money for the Little Princess Trust on Monday (April 20).
The event, which took place at Castle Place Shopping Centre in Trowbridge, was organised by the 14 students as part of their qualification requires them to plan and run a promotional event.
Promoting Wiltshire College’s Aspire Hair and Beauty Salons, which give student hairdressers and beauty therapists a chance to develop their skills, the group organised a catwalk to demonstrate their work.
They also held a raffle to raise money for the Little Princess Trust, which provides real hair wigs to boys and girls across the UK and Ireland that have sadly lost their own hair through cancer treatment.
Amanda Bray, Hair Salon manager at Wiltshire College, Trowbridge, said: “As part of their qualification they have to plan and organise a promotional event with the help of staff at the college.
“They came up with the idea of doing a catwalk show and they also decided that they wanted to raise money for the Little Princess Trust, as they make wigs for little children.
“Lots of people were donating money as part of the raffle and some were just donating money without taking a raffle ticket as it is such a good cause. The students all enjoyed the event and were pleased with how it went.”
