PERFORMERS at the Trowbridge Operatic Society will be setting sail on a host of performances of HMS Pinafore next week when they take to the stage at the Arc Theatre.

It is the third time that the society has put on the performance which follows the tribulations of poor seaman Ralph Rackstraw on board HMS Pinafore who falls in love with the captain’s daughter.

Claire Borovac, chair of the operatic society, said: “We started rehearsals at the beginning of the year and we have new members as well as existing ones and it has been lovely atmosphere during rehearsals and we are looking forward to the performances.”

The comical opera will be directed by Phil Courage alongside musical director Julian Clementson who the operatic society has previously worked with.

Mrs Borovac added: “We have some excellent singers and we are well known for putting on high quality performances. Over the years we have built up a dedicated following but we welcome new audiences and this show will be very entertaining.”

It is expected that the running time of the performance will be under two hours and tickets cost £11 for adults and £10 for concessions.
