CHILDREN and staff at Trowbridge nursery Busy Bees are in a celebratory mood, after receiving an “Outstanding” rating from Ofsted inspectors by achieving a perfect score in all three areas.
The nursery, which is located in Hackett Place, Paxcroft Mead, improved on its previous “Good” rating from its last inspection in 2011 when inspectors visited at the beginning of April.
Inspectors said the nursery is “Outstanding” in meeting the needs of the range of children who attend, contributing to the well-being of the children and the effectiveness of the leadership and management.
The report praised staff at Busy Bees and said they have “high expectations of the children’s abilities” and use “skilful questioning to help children solve problems and develop their own inquiring aptitudes”.
Fiona Penfold, nursery manager at Busy Bees, which provides provision for children aged 0-5, said: “It is incredibly rewarding to receive an ‘Outstanding’ rating in all areas from Ofsted.
“This endorsement proves that all our hard work is recognised and the outstanding care we strive to provide is delivered. I am very proud of the whole team.
“We work really well together and every member of staff works tirelessly to ensure that every area of care and education is provided at the highest level for our children and their families. We’re thrilled to bits and so are our parents - we will definitely be celebrating for a few weeks to come.”
Ofsted inspectors also praised the nursery’s partnership with parents and found that staff provide “thorough information to all parents about their children’s progress and achievements”.
Child development was given a special mention in the report as well, with inspectors pointing out that children “behave exceptionally well because the stimulating environments and positive interactions from staff ensure they keep fully occupied and engaged”.
The report added that the staff have a secure knowledge of how to keep children safe and the quality of staff cover throughout the day ensure they provide each child with continuous care.
