POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a car collided with a tree at 7.07am in Hilperton Drive, Trowbridge, on Saturday at the roundabout with Ashton Road.
A green Ford Fiesta left the road and collided with the tree causing injury to the elderly male driver. He was driving alone at the time.
The 83-year-old man, from Melksham, was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath at first, and then transferred to Southmead Hospital in Bristol when it was determined he had suffered a broken neck. He is currently in a stable condition.
PC Alan King, from Wiltshire Police, said: “We would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision in this part of Trowbridge on Saturday.”
