POLICE are appealing for information after a man was seriously assaulted at around 5.18pm yesterday in Trowbridge outside the Dorothy House Charity Shop in Wicker Hill.
A 46-year-old man from the Trowbridge area was involved in an altercation with another male which resulted in him becoming unconscious on the floor.
It is believed that the two men knew each other and nobody else is being sought at this time.
The man sustained a serious head injury which has been described as life changing. He remains in hospital.
Nicky Winfield, 39, of Bond Street Buildings, Trowbridge, was arrested and charged with GBH without intent. He was due to appear at North West Wiltshire Magistrates Court today.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, including passengers on the T1 bus, which was at the location at the time, should call Melksham CID on 101.
