The Magna Carta was brought to life when Baron Henry de Bohun visited Bellefield Primary and Nursery School in Trowbridge.

David Birks of Trowbridge Museum delivered a fascinating talk on Medieval Trowbridge and children were able to dress as knights, ladies and peasants.

David’s visit took place as part of the school’s Magna Carta Day. Baron Henry de Bohun was one of the 25 Barons who forced King John to seal (not sign!) the Magna Carta 800 years ago at Runnymede. The children were particularly interested to hear about Baron Henry’s Trowbridge connections.

The talk launched a day of activities where the children were able to spend a day in the life of a medieval Trowbridge resident. Trowbridge Museum is hosting an exhibition until July 25 where children and adults can learn more about the story of King John, Baron Henry and the Magna Carta.
