TROWBRIDGE in Bloom and Trowbridge Chamber of Commerce have announced the winner of their Pride in Business competition to create a display to celebrate the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta.

Businesses in the town were invited either to enter a window display related to the Magna Carta or a floral display in the colours of Henry de Bohun, Trowbridge’s Magna Carta Baron.

Judging took place in July to coincide with the Magna Carta Play Day in Trowbridge Town Park and the Business Expo at Trowbridge Civic Centre, with Co-op Funeral Directors coming out on top.

Colin Kay, from Trowbridge Chamber of Commerce, said: “The window display was won by the Co-op Funeral Directors with stunning window including a floral reproduction of Henry’s shield.

“Carter and Harding and Waterstones were highly commended winning Gold certificates for their entries and CLIC Sergeant Silver.

“Trowbridge Rugby club won the floral display with a colourful display of flowers which also included the Baron’s shield. The tranquillity of the Moonraker’s gardens and the vibrant display of Coffee Central won Gold with the King Arms gaining silver.”
