POLICE have charged a man with a series of burglaries, after a car was stopped following an incident at the Lidl store in Trowbridge in the early hours of Saturday morning.
William Castle, 55, of Chandler’s Ford, Hampshire, has been charged with four counts of burglary at Lidl stores in Taunton, Wincanton, Frome and Trowbridge.
He has also been charged with dangerous driving and driving without insurance. He has been refused bail and is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
Three men in dark clothes are also thought to have fled the scene and police are appealing for witnesses.
