FRIENDS of Trowbridge Park are inviting organisations and community groups to help them plant a Riot of Colour boarder in the park to provide colour all-year-round.

The voluntary group, which was formed in January last year, wants to plant bushes, trees and plants in part of the park located at the back of the Court Mills Building, opposite the Civic Centre.

A landscape gardener is guiding FoTP to design and source suitable plants and to prepare the 45-meter border in readiness for planting during the last two weeks in October.

Adults and children will be invited to adopt a plant or two and plant them in a predetermined spot within the boarder, which will be officially opened by the Mayor of Trowbridge Roger Andrews in November.

Sharl Adabashi, Chairman of Friends of Trowbridge Park, said: “We invite all our members and all organisations and community groups to join us for an exciting event to plant a 'Riot of Colour' border.

“It will be located at the back of the Court Mills Building, opposite the Civic Centre, with bushes, trees and plants that will provide all year round colour.

“We want to make the border a source of joy and pride in our park and town, to provide a spectacle of all-year-round colour, and we hope people will help by donating generously towards the cost of the plants and taking part in planting.”

Mr Adabashi said that any groups or organisations that are interested in donating towards the cost of the plants should make cheques payable to Friends of Trowbridge Park.

Donations in cash or by cheque or credit card can be made at the Trowbridge Information Centre, based at Trowbridge Civic Centre.
