TWO men have been sentenced to a total of more than seven years imprisonment for drug supplying offences in Trowbridge.

Shakeem Fearon, also known as Daniel Webber, 30, of Wembley, London and Renardo Johnson, 24, from Luton, were sentenced following a year long investigation by the Wiltshire Police Dedicated Crime Team.

The pair were arrested at a flat in Sleightholme Court in Trowbridge on April 8 last year after they were found in possession of crack cocaine and heroin valued between £2,000 and £3,000.

Johnson, who pleaded guilty at the first hearing, claimed to have been in Trowbridge for just a matter of minutes before police executed a warrant at the flat.

He said he had been paid to bring the drugs to the town and was acting purely as a courier.

Fearon claimed that he had used his knowledge of the drugs trade to help Johnson set up a new business in the town and that he had not been involved in any drug dealing.

Detailed analysis of the mobile phones which were found in their possession showed that this was not the case, and in fact, Johnson had been present in the town for a number of days prior to his arrest.

The phones recovered also showed evidence of street level drug dealing for a period of two months prior to the date of arrest.

Johnson was sentenced to 33 months at Harrow Crown Court last week after the case was referred to the court, while Fearon, who has links to Trowbridge, was sentenced to 54 months imprisonment.

A spokesperson for the Wiltshire Police Dedicated Crime Team said: "This result shows our continued commitment to tackling groups and individuals who trade in Class A drugs and pose a great level of threat to our communities."
