TWO men and a woman from the Trowbridge area along with two people from Frome were arrested on suspicion of conspiring to bring crack cocaine and heroin into Wiltshire.

Officers from the Wiltshire Dedicated Crime Team travelled to Frome on Monday where they arrested a 35-year-old man in possession of a large quantity of Class A drugs.

After searching his home, police found a large quantity of Class A drugs worth over £8,000, as well as more than £12,000 in cash. A 38-year-old woman at the address was also arrested.

Further enquiries were carried out in the area, and two further people who were both suspected class A drug suppliers from the Trowbridge area - a man aged 38 and a woman aged 47, who were believed to be there to collect drugs for onward supply, were arrested.

Another man, aged 37, who was stopped by officers, drove away at speed and collided with a car. He was arrested later in the day.

PC Matt Dickens, of the Dedicated Crime Team, said: "Our enquiries revealed that a Frome-based drug supplier was supplying large quantities of drugs into Trowbridge, via several local dealers.

"We were able to locate the supplier in possession of large quantities of what is believed to be crack cocaine and heroin, and a large quantity of cash in used notes.

"This just goes to show, that once again, we are not afraid to cross borders in pursuit of those seeking to supply drugs into our county, and we will make great efforts to seize the proceeds of their criminal activities from them."

All those arrested have been interviewed and released on bail pending further enquiries.
