More than 100 people enjoyed a free canal boat trip at Hilperton Marina last weekend as part of Drifters' National Open Day.
The Canal & River Trust supported the event and across England and Wales 19 taster sessions were offered.
John Bull, manager at ABC Boat Hire base at Hilperton Marina, said: “We had a great response to our open day at Hilperton Marina on Sunday.
“Over 400 people visited our event and 100 people enjoyed a free boat trip along the beautiful Kennet & Avon canal, many of them families.
“We look forward to welcoming them back to the canal again soon.”
Nationally more than 3,000 people enjoyed a free boat trip at a Drifter’s Open Day event and in total an estimated 4,000 people attended.
Mike Grimes, head of boating at the Canal & River Trust, added: “It’s fantastic that so many people took to the water last Sunday at a Drifters Open Day event, many for the first time.
“Narrowboat holidays can often be the start of a lifelong passion for the waterways.”
