A drug dealer from Trowbridge has been sentenced to three years and two months in prison for possession of heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply and possession of criminal property.
Kaseem Smiri was found by officers from the Dedicated Crime Team after they attended an address in Lamplighters Walk to enquire about another man.
The 24-year-old was uncooperative with the police and delayed officers long enough for a second man to escape through a window upstairs.
Officers searched the address and found a package of heroin worth £1,000 and a package of wraps of crack cocaine worth £500 found floating in the upstairs toilet.
There was also an area in the bedroom where Class A drugs were being prepared. Scales, £500 in cash, knife blades and similar paraphernalia were also located and seized.
Smiri, who was on license from prison for class A drug supply offences, was arrested and pleaded guilty to the offences prior to a trial.
PC David Hambly, of the Dedicated Crime Team at Melksham, said: "Crack cocaine and heroin destroy lives and the criminal behaviour associated with it blights entire communities.
"I am happy with the sentence in this case and urge members of the public to let us know if they become aware of drug and gang activity in their area, all information is treated with the utmost discretion."
