A SUMMER party at charity Alzheimer's Support's base in Trowbridge drew around 90 club members, helpers and friends from the community to enjoy a day featuring light entertainment, good food and friendly company.

The annual party at the centre in Mill Street turned into a joyous celebration of people coming together at the club, which offers high quality support and care to those who have been diagnosed with dementia, and their carers and families.

As dementia touches so many families, the club places a huge importance on community, and puts their success as an organisation down to the support they have received. They welcomed locals to the party as a thank you for the donations and help they have received.

The event is one of two big events the Mill Street Support Club holds, the other being a smaller Christmas gathering for the club members and their carers. The club aims to offer a relaxed and informal atmosphere and to create a welcoming environment where no two days are the same. Recent activities include crafts, cookery, art therapy, dance, poetry and board games.
