A GAY couple who were walking into Trowbridge town centre one evening last month were victims of a hate crime, say police who are now investigating the incident.
At around 6pm on August 23, the two men were walking in Canal Road when a dark grey saloon pulled up beside them.
They were shouted at in Polish before the driver swore at them with an offensive and derogatory term.
He then allegedly spat at the couple before driving off.
The driver is described as white, in his 20s, with a shaved head.
