A NUMBER of expensive jewellery items have been stolen from a home in Trowbridge, sparking a police appeal to anyone who may have any information on the burglary.

Between 10am on September 8 and 9.30pm on September 9 a house in Middle Lane was broken into with the burglars making off with jewellery, including silver swirl stud earrings, an 18 carat yellow gold scallop set seven stone diamond ring, a nine carat yellow gold umbrella stud earring set and a nine carat yellow gold 32 inch chain necklace. Currently the items are of an unknown value.

PC Mark Hough said: “This was an extremely upsetting incident for the elderly homeowner who was not in at the time of the incident.

“A number of valuable pieces of jewellery were stolen while further items were smashed inside the house.

“Officers have been carrying out a thorough investigation into this incident and we are now releasing photographs of the jewellery in a bid to try and reunite them with the owner – if you recognise the items, maybe you’ve seen them being sold in a shop or online, we’d like to hear from you.

“Anyone with information on the jewellery, or anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area between these times, should call police on 101. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously if preferred.”
