THE Shires in Trowbridge is the latest drop-off point for The Salvation Army and Wiltshire Times Toy Appeal.

Gifts for vulnerable children can be dropped off under the Christmas tree opposite Santa's grotto, or in the manager's office behind Boswell's.

Centre manager Sarah Moore said: “The thing about the toy appeal is that it benefits those who may not have much in the Trowbridge area at a time when they may need it most.

"It is a very worthwhile cause that helps a lot of people in the local community and this is the fourth year that The Shires has been a collection point."

With just under two weeks to go until the appeal ends, organiser Major Kelvin Lang from The Salvation Army is hoping for a final flurry of donations.

“Now we have Tesco and The Shires helping out so I am hoping the donations will pick up in time for the closing date," he said.

You can drop off your presents at Tesco in Trowbridge until Monday and at The Shires, The Salvation Army Citadel in Castle Street, Trowbridge and the Wiltshire Times offices in Duke Street until December 13.
