SHOPPERS and homeowners have been left without power in Trowbridge after three days of intermittent power cuts.

NatWest in Fore Street, Subway, Trowbridge Nails and iPhix Phones have all been struck by the intermittent power cuts which started on Tuesday (November 29). The bank closed its doors on Thursday (December 1) due to the power failure.

A member of staff at Subway said how the power cuts happened several times and yesterday she had to bake 90 rolls again after the first batch got stuck in the oven mid bake.

A spokesperson from Scottish and Southern Electric, speaking on Thursday, said: "Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) is working to restore power to thirty customers in the Trowbridge area.

“Engineers were alerted to the outage at 10.40am this morning and it’s expected that all customers will have their supplies restored by 2pm this afternoon.

“SSEN is aware that there was a power cut yesterday for a two hour duration that affected the same 30 customers; the cause of this fault was located in a link box and the fuse was replaced, successfully restoring all supplies.

“Investigations into the cause of today’s power cut will be carried out once all of the affected customers have had their supply safely reinstated and SSEN apologises for any inconvenience that these outages have caused.”
