VISITORS to The Shires Shopping Centre in Trowbridge had the opportunity to win the perfect gift this Christmas as £2,000 worth of prizes were up for grabs.

It was an exciting few hours from 12pm to 4.45pm as shoppers rushed to sign up to the free draw for the chance to win a prize every fifteen minutes. Some of the top prizes on the day included an iPad Mini, a Sharp 43” TV, a HP laptop and a Kindle Fire.

Among the winners was Debbie Betteridge, who was in the shopping centre in Court Street, on the day supporting the Trowbridge Sugarcraft charity cake sale raising  funds for the Sepsis Trust, which her mum and sister helped organise, and who was delighted to win the Sharp TV.

Sarah Louise-Moore, centre manager at The Shires Shopping Centre, said: “The secret Santa competition was extremely popular with visitors to the centre and it was great to be able to give away such fantastic prizes. It certainly helped everyone get in the Christmas spirit in the lead up to the town light switch-on event and we hope all our winners enjoy their prizes.”

This wasn't the only attraction in the centre on this winter's afternoon, as it was also the opening of Santa’s Grotto with Father Christmas arriving to meet and greet young shopping centre visitors. He will be in his grotto in the centre of the shopping mall for the meet and greet sessions and photographs every Thursday through to Saturday between December 1 and December 17, then every day between December 19 and December 24.
