JUST hours after being called out to an incident in Trowbridge, fire crews found themselves rushing out to reports of a fire in one of the town’s pubs.
Two fire crews from Trowbridge and one crew from Westbury rushed out to the Sir Isaac Pitman pub in Market Street this morning (Thursday February 9) at 8.06am after a fire had broken out in the kitchen of the Wetherspoons.
Watch manager Guy Tadman said: “The fire was caused by the deep fat fryer which then ignited. A lot of the area was smoke logged so we sent in two breathing apparatus users with a hose reel jet to put out the fire. It seems that the fire has only caused minimal damage.”
The stop for the fire came in just after 8.30am, with the pub expected to be open for business in the afternoon.
