THE UK’s largest rock school network is opening its doors in Trowbridge next month.

The Rock Project, which teaches children aged between 7-18 how to play guitar, bass, drums and sing, is opening at the Arc Theatre in March.

The two-hour long after-school sessions see professional musicians tutor students to perform as a band.

Mike Aris from The Rock Project, who has a degree in music, said: “We’ve already been busy in Bath, but parents from Trowbridge made enquiries about a school in their area and so we felt the time was right to open here.

“It’s fantastic to see students develop their love of music. Along with learning to play the music they love, it is genuinely inspiring to see how much The Rock Project students grow, both as musicians and in confidence, through taking part in sessions.”

The new weekly sessions will start on Tuesday, March 7 at Arc Theatre, College Road, Trowbridge.

Junior sessions take place from 5pm to 7pm with senior sessions running from 7pm to 9pm. All of the instruments are supplied.
