BREAKTHROUGH Trowbridge’s ‘Rough Sleep’ event will take place on Friday, March 10 in aid of the Breakthrough Day Centre.
All sponsorship money will be used to help reduce homelessness in Trowbridge and organises are urging the community to show support.
Rev Barrie Dearlove, manager of Breakthrough Trowbridge, said: “Please join us to help to raise funds for this much needed charity by helping to make other people aware of the scandal of homelessness in our county town and surrounding area.
“Our service users have no choice in this but you do. All you have to do is bring along a sleeping bag, climb into it and sleep until 6am the next morning.
“Where you will sleep is in a secure area so there's no need to be concerned about being disturbed, other than from traffic noise.
“We are encouraging as many as people as possible to join us in this fight against such dreadful conditions which our service users have to put up with and be thankful that you have a home and a comfortable bed to go home to.”
All participants must be 18 or over and must sign up by phone or email in advance.
