THE group fighting the planning application for 100 homes in Southwick is confident there is enough opposition to make Wiltshire Council refuse it.
In total, 173 letter of objection have been written to Wiltshire Council opposing the application submitted by Redrow Homes, which the council aims to make a decision on by the end of May.
Chairman of Save Our Southwick, John Eaton, said: “There’s a lot of clout behind this. We have more than 170 letters of objection from members of the public as well as representations from MP Andrew Murrison, Southwick Parish Council and Campaign to Protect Rural England.
“The target date for a decision has been moved from the end of March to the end of May. I think that might be because Redrow have faced so much objection they’ve gone back to regroup - I think it seems unfair that they have been allowed to do that.
"I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who has showed their opposition to this application, which will have a massively detrimental impact on our village if approved."
