A PUBLIC meeting to discuss the future of maternity services in Trowbridge will take place next week.
The meeting will take place in the Atrium of County Hall on Tuesday (March 14) at 6.30pm and everyone is welcome to attend.
Cllr Jerry Wickham, cabinet member for Health and Adult Social Care at Wiltshire Council, who will chair the meeting, said: “I am pleased that the RUH appreciates the high regard in which the Trowbridge Birthing Unit is held by the residents of west Wiltshire.
“With a new health centre starting on the Bythesea Road campus later this year, it is important that all elements of the NHS work with us to ensure that the health needs of Trowbridge residents are met.”
The meeting was organised by Cllr Graham Payne after an article was published in the Wiltshire Times which revealed the RUH Trust’s plans to 'redesign' maternity services, prompting fears over the future of Trowbridge Birthing Centre.
Representatives from the RUH Trust will be present.
