BACK for its fourth outing, the Once Upon A Time In The West Festival is returning to a rural location near Trowbridge for a wild party.

Last year the shindig was nominated for ‘Best Small Festival’ and ‘Grass Roots Award’ at the UK Festival Awards and this year sees its biggest line-up yet.

Local and international acts from as far as India and America from genres including swing, dub, folk and bluegrass will grace the event.

Topping the bill is Mad Professor, the Guyanese producer and engineer known for his original productions and remix work.

He is considered one of the leading producers of dub music’s second generation and was instrumental in transitioning dub into the digital age.

Also featuring over the weekend (July 13-15) are Gypsy Hill, 3 Daft Monkeys, Pronghorn, Tankus the Henge, Indian outfit The Ska Vengers, Chavo, The Turner Brothers, The Stiff Joints, Mango Factory, Mick O'Toole and many more.

Festival founder Flounder Murray said: “The festival has become known in the area as a fun and friendly event and this year is definitely our biggest line-up so far.

“We’re pulling in acts from all over who all know how to put on a good show.

“It’s going to be a big party and we want to see people of all ages enjoying themselves.

“We might be small, but we punch well above our weight as a festival.”

For the first time this year the festival will feature The Crow Bar, which will serve all manner of booze including craft ales, handmade ciders and quality lagers and will host live bands, DJs and dancing late into the night.

This year, the popular DJinn Palace will expand to include more daytime entertainment including interactive cabaret performances as well as DJs in the evening including Kaptain DJ from the Big Swing Sound, Frome’s Toby Spinn and more to be announced.

In previous years the festival has been labelled as ‘one of the friendliest festivals around’ with people praising its value for money and great quality music.
