More than 120 pupils from Holbrook Primary School, Trowbridge took to the stage at the Civic Centre for their annual dance festival.

Each key stage two class at the school has been busy choreographing and rehearsing their routine for the past 6 weeks in preparation for the performance.

The entire festival and every class's dance routine had the theme of happiness, a learning theme which has been adopted by the school for the year.

Headteacher, Rodger Whitewick said: "We feel like the theme of happiness here at Holbrook is very important, as school life is very pressured these days. We don't want to loose sight of the fact that they are still children, and should be having an exciting and happy time at school.

"They danced with so much enthusiasm. Dancing is a part of our culture at Holbrook and the children danced naturally, without fear and looked like they were having great fun. I certainly was."

This is the forth year Holbrook have held a dance festival for key stage two classes, and the second year they have performed in the much larger venue of the Civic Centre in Trowbridge.

At the end of the performance, there was a collection for local charity Alzheimers Support.

Mr Whitewick said: "The collection was very important for us, as achieving happiness is just as much about giving as it is receiving."

A total of £190 was raised through the collection, and the children and staff look forward to performing again next year.
