AROUND 50 people indulged themselves in the arts on Thursday evening as they were taken on creative tours around Trowbridge.

Residents who are interested in the cultural and creative aspects of the town were led on walking exhibitions around the town, stopping off at Drawing Projects UK based at Bridge House, Trowbridge Museum in The Shires and Town Hall Arts in the Town Hall.

There was an opportunity to hear about the planned expansion at Trowbridge Museum before listening to a talk from museum manager David Birks on the history of textiles in the town.

Director of Town Hall Arts, Tracy Sullivan, said: It was a real success and a great opportunity to promote the visual arts on offer in Trowbridge.

“This is definitely an example of the arts on offer for people in the town, some of which people might not know about.

“Someone on the tour even said it was like being in Brighton or London with so much on offer.

“We had people who had been to the museum before but never the town hall and vice versa and that was the idea behind the event.

“It’s so exciting to see such a large community of artists in Trowbridge and with these great venues, we look forward to celebrating their talents even more in the future."

At Town Hall Arts, people viewed the Exploited Reality exhibition created in collaboration with Bath Spa University MA Curatorial Practice students.
