MEMBERS of the Hilperton neighbourhood plan steering group have launched it with a public consultation.
The consultation process, ending on June 30, will include comments from local residents, statutory bodies, local businesses and community groups.
During this time a draft copy will be available for residents to inspect and comment on at a number of places around the village including the bar of the village hall on Whaddon Lane, Hilperton Primary School, Avonfield Gardens nursery on Marsh Road, St Michael's and St Mary's churches and the Lion & Fiddle pub. Trowbridge library will also have a copy.
The steering group, comprising parish councillors and local residents, will be at the village fete on the afternoon of June 10 at the village hall, where there will be an opportunity to view and discuss the power point presentation and leave feedback.
Steering group chairman Toby King said: “It’s a chance for the residents to help shape the village’s future and we urge everyone to take part in the exercise which, after a referendum, will allow the parish to influence how their neighbourhood might develop.
"We also hope the Neighbourhood Plan will protect Hilperton's unique identity.”
Hilperton residents are urged to view a draft and comment online at http://www.hilpertonparishcouncil.org.uk/index.php/neighbourhood-plan/
