PARTY girl Susan Oliver is staging a charity gig to raise money for the hospital that helped her through her breast cancer ordeal.

Mrs Oliver, of Hollis Way, Southwick, has called her bash 'The Party Ain’t Over' after one of her favourite bands Status Quo.

She said: "I was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2016 and to say that was a shock was an understatement.

"I became very scared with the future looking uncertain and the challenges ahead almost unbearable to think about. But for me the fight had started and my inner self told me 'give yourself five minutes to fall apart, dust yourself off and then get on with it’."

Fortunately Mrs Oliver's cancer was contained and she had an operation to remove the tumour last June, followed by radiotherapy.

"My body is recovering slowly but the journey can take some time," she said.

"I have great respect for all the staff at the RUH in Bath. They showed empathy and support with a sense of humour and a smile.”

Mrs Oliver is hoping to raise £2,000 for the new £27m RUH cancer centre.

Her bash, at The Farmhouse on Saturday, July 22, will include a buffet and performances by bands Funked up and The Crash Gears. Tickets cost £15; to book call Mrs Oliver on 07955 076193.
