A NEW free trail map for children that teaches them the horrible facts about Trowbridge's history is being launched on Friday (July 28).

Trowbridge Town Council are giving out these maps, funded by the Friends of Trowbridge Museum, which takes people around the town and teaches them about the town's past.

From 10am today, children and parents are invited to meet at Leyker’s Coffee Central, in White Hart Yard, from 10am where they will be greeted by the town council's new designed mascot, Trowbridge Ted.

The Leyker’s team will be dressed up and they will provide themed cakes and drinks for the event. The children will depart at 10:30am with from the museum dressed up to take the children on the trail.

"This is something really exciting. The horrible history side of things is always really popular with children and I hope it will be a big hit," said the council's customer service manager Aby Cooper.

"The Friends of Trowbridge Museum kindly accepted our plea to put this together, got the facts ready and now we can move ahead with this. The feedback we have had on Facebook is great so far."

The map will be available for free from the Information Centre or they can download it from home from the town council website.
